Exhibition contents: Embroidery, weaving, knitting, original works by participants, works by instructors since its founding, and new works by Mikiko Yamanashi
The 50th-anniversary exhibition, held during the COVID-19 pandemic, has now become a cherished memory, and this time the theme, “Flower Garden,” was decided early on. The exhibition will feature decorative works for windows, walls, and chairs, created using a variety of techniques to beautifully enhance everyday life.
Being able to hold a commemorative exhibition with flowers as the motif for our 55th anniversary can be seen as the realization of an eternal dream in a world where wars continue to rage in many places. It is also amazing that nearly 70 of our colleagues have become engrossed in creating original works again after a five-year hiatus, and it has been a great source of strength and encouragement for me. It can also be described as a quiet, peaceful time to dedicate ourselves to our craft.
This commemorative exhibition in Omotesando is the first in 15 years. We hope you will enjoy a peaceful and relaxing time here. We look forward to seeing you and hope you will come and enjoy the exhibition.

Wishing you a happy midsummer. Thank you for your continued patronage.
This year, Northern Europe and the rest of Europe have already experienced three heatwaves, leading to an increase in the introduction of "climate holidays" considering the environment and health. Tokyo is also expected to continue to suffer from extreme heat.
The Yamanashi Hemslöjd Omotesando store will be closed for a two-week summer holiday. During this period, some classes will still be held. We will be accepting enquiries by email and our online shop will be open, but please allow 3-4 days for replies and dispatch. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused to customers with urgent orders.
We will be making good use of this period to set up our “behind-the-scenes“ work, including in-store maintenance and preparations for our 55th anniversary exhibition.
Please take care to avoid heatstroke. Look after yourselves and have a healthy and good summer.

In 2026, Yamanashi Hemslöjd once again became the official general agent in Japan for the Danish Handcraft Guild.
We will contact our home country and promote the exhibition and other cultural initiatives.
As the first initiative, we will hold an exhibition featuring popular works suitable for early summer.
At the venue, you can purchase or order kits that have been revamped with high-quality materials, from packaging to the contents themselves.

An embroidery instructor will be present to offer advice on needlework techniques for beautiful results and clever finishing methods.
Embroidery instructors are in the gallery on days other than Thursdays as well.
We sincerely hope this will be a place where beginners and experienced cross-stitchers alike feel welcome to stop by and share the beautiful world of cross-stitch with everyone.

Cross-stitch fans, your wait is over!
Finally, kits, linen, and embroidery floss from Denmark are starting to arrive.
All the kits come in lovely boxes, they look like treats!
Our online store is under construction, but we continue to accept orders by phone and email.
In May, we will be holding a Danish embroidery exhibition at the Mimosa Gallery.
This website will also be renewed, so we would appreciate it if you could check Instagram for the latest information for a while.
