Masterclass in Cross Stitch Embroidery

Enjoy creating delicate and beautiful cross-stitch works while mastering various stitching, finishing, and finalisation techniques.

Content

We will create 16 sample items covering the basics and applications of cross-stitch, finishing techniques for fabric and thread, etc., and determine pass/fail with corrections. We will provide meticulous guidance until you pass.

Furthermore, we will produce four completed works: two basic designs and two applied designs.

Materials used will be Danish Handcraft Guild linen for cross stitch and flower threads.

Canvas work embroidery masterclass

Canvas work embroidery is an embroidery technique that has continued to be popular among European high society. You will master 16 techniques, including tent stitch (French: petit point), selected from a variety of traditional stitches.

Content

Selected key stitches from canvas work are embroidered and sampled. (e.g. Florentine, Tent, Rose, etc.)

Learn and produce techniques for stretching canvas, handling thread, and finishing, and create samples.

I will create three finished pieces. The final piece will be a sampler produced under the guidance of the RSN in the UK.

The materials will use Appleton yarn from the UK.

For the Canvas Work Embroidery Master Course, we will sell embroidery hoops separately to those who wish.

Swedish Weaving Masterclass

Flemish weaving is a type of tapestry weaving originating from medieval Sweden, used for items such as chair seats and bags. You will master the basic techniques of Swedish weaving, exemplified by Flemish weaving.

Content

This course covers 15 topics, including the basics and applications of Swedish weaving, equipment and yarns (six types used, such as cotton, linen, wool, etc.), warp thread tensioning, and finishing techniques. Samples will be created.

Furthermore, you will produce completed works of trial weaving (2 basic weaving methods) and 3 applied designs (such as table centres, cushion covers, and tapestries).

The text is clearly explained with photographs and illustrations.

The materials will be Swedish Hemslöjd weaving yarn.

Those who complete this can advance to an advanced course where they can study classical textiles.

Whitework Masterclass

Historically, whitework (white embroidery, also known as needle lace), which can be described as European elegance, was a refined hobby of the noblewomen of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Those who have completed the Cross-Stitch Master Course should find it easy to get started, but it is also possible to take it on from the very beginning.
Upon completion of the course, attendees will receive a certificate of completion.
