In addition to publishing numerous books, the organization has held exhibitions and classes centered on embroidery and weaving. To date, 25,000 people have utilized the skills learned in these classes to create their own works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2014, we became a non-profit organization to expand our global activities, opened a gallery in Stockholm, and partnered with the Swedish Society of Crafts and Design and the Danish Guild of Craftsmen. We are committed to promoting Japanese traditional crafts and other crafts from around the world, while also fostering exchange and joint projects with traditional craft artists from Northern Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We hope that many people will experience the charm of the various handicrafts that Nordic people have cultivated in their lives, and the beauty of designs that are still loved over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHemsl\u00f6jd\u201d means \u201chomecraft\u201d in Swedish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Authentic traditional crafts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yamanashi Hemsl\u00f6jd was founded in 1971 by Mikiko Yamanashi, who was studying weaving in Sweden, under the patronage of the Swedish National Association for Handicraft. It has since been accredited by the Danish Guild of Handicraft and the British RSN (The Royal School of Needlework).
